Tony Beyer was born in Auckland in 1948. He currently lives in New Plymouth. He has had published 11 collections of his poetry in New Zealand and Australia, including Dancing Bear (Melaleuca Press, Australia), The Century (HeadworX) and Electric Yachts (Puriri Press, Auckland). Recently he edited the journal Poetry Aotearoa (Picaro Press, Sydney), a bi-annual selection of contemporary New Zealand poetry for Australian readers.
