Submission Guidelines

NB: As of 2011 HeadworX is no longer receiving submissions, and will be taking a short break until further notice.

HeadworX publishes poetry & contemporary fiction (innovative, experimental, hard-edged, realistic and SF) and are interested in receiving manuscripts for consideration.

For poetry:

Please send a sample of six to eight poems for consideration and a full publishing CV, listing all previous publications in literary magazines and anthologies.

If you have written your manuscript on a word processor, make sure you keep a copy of your work on a clean disc. Your disc should be of a type that is able to be made IBM compatible. It is not necessary to submit the disc with your printed out manuscript. But you could say in your covering letter that you have your work on disc.

For fiction:

Please send a synopsis of the work first and a detailed summary of chapters with a stamped self addressed envelope.

Always type the manuscript in double spacing.

Please Note: From 2004, HeadworX has suspended its Australian publishing and Pocket Fiction series. No manuscripts from Australia will be considered at present. Fiction manuscripts will not be read. Submission inquiries should be made by email first as most of HeadworX's list is solicited and it is very unlikely unsolicited manuscripts will be read. HeadworX is not a full-time job and the editor does it all in his spare time, please be patient in replies to email queries.
